Hi dirk293,
The transmitter is paired to an iPhone using Bluetooth LE. The Dexcom Share app, installed on the phone, has a component (pictured here and in the original post up top) that can also display the current reading on the watch. There is a lag of about one to three seconds before the current reading appears. Image Some insurance may cover it. . Dexcom SHARE® remote monitoring is built into the G5 app, allowing you to share your glucose data with up to five followers, who can remotely monitor your glucose data and trends on their compatible smart device with the Dexcom Follow app. Share and Follow functions require an internet connection. This is owing to the design of Apple's iOS operating system, which limits Bluetooth communication for non-Apple apps running in the background. The issue is not present on Android devices.
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. From my understanding, a third-party Bluetooth device isn’t connecting properly to your daughter’s iPhone. I’d like to share some information with you that might help.
Dexcom G6 is the first and only integrated continuous glucose monitoring (iCGM) system that supports insulin-using patients ages 2 years and older with real-time glucose readings, a predictive alert, and customizable remote monitoring options.
First, follow these steps: If you can't connect a Bluetooth accessory to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Next, you might want to try unpairing, then pairing them again to her iPhone. I also recommend trying to pair it with another iOS device to further isolate the issue: Pair a third-party Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Additionally check for sources of interference: Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference
I hope this helps get you started. Kind regards.
